Flowers in the Window TRAVIS (with lyrics)
"Flowers in the Window" is a song from Scottish rock band Travis' third studio album, The Invisible Band (2001). Frontman Fran Healy wrote the song during recording sessions for the band's previous album, The Man Who (1999), coming up with the title by looking at British audio engineer Mike Hedges' flower garden. Released as the album's third and final single on 25 March 2002, the song debuted and peaked at #18 on the UK Singles Chart, reached #35 in Ireland, and also charted in Australia, Germany, and Switzerland. According to Fran Healy, he wrote "Flowers in the Window" during June 1998 in France, at Mike Hedges' recording studio while Travis were recording their previous album, The Man Who. When Hedges told Healy that every artist who had recorded at his studio wrote a song there, Healy refused to do so because he "didn't feel like it". Healy had previous written songs alone in his room, but one day, he sat at Hedges' piano and composed the opening riff. He then transferred this riff to his guitar and came up with most of the song's melody and its hook, which he wanted to be six syllables. Upon looking outside at Hedges' garden, he came up with the hook and title: "Flowers in the Window".

Good old Kenny Lynch! He was an English singer, songwriter, entertainer, and actor, appearing in many variety shows in the 1960s. At the time, he was among the few black singers in British pop music and was appointed an OBE in the 1970 New Year Honours list. I posted this video on my sunryse111 channel back in January 2017 and have lifted the entire video for my tryton111 channel. Back then, th...

In the mid 1970s, David Soul enjoyed some huge charts successes. It all suddenly came to an end, brought on, I suspect by problems with his record label. In fact, this one was a hit only here in England. What was going on?

Nice one Victor , They never made a bad record . Have a good weekend ,
Despite their reliance on their links with Paul McCartney, they were a very talented duo. Peter, in particular, went on to have a long career as a well-respected music producer.

I could listen to Mary Hopkin's voice all day. I love this song, and it wasn't even that big a hit in the U.S.
Totally agree with your comments Victor Chapman /Chinn Were proven hit makers ,this song proves it . Strange how successful acts leave their proven production team.,only to split with no more success, Cheers
Yes, it happened to The Flowerpot Men after the record label "sacked" the Carter-Lewis team and brought in Greenaway and Cook. Nothing they did ever matched the brilliance of "Let's Go to San Francisco".
R.I.P. Errol Brown 🙏💖
Any song from wonderful neil diamond is just wonderful
Facts of life, not way of life. Sullivan made them say that. Couldn’t get Jim to do that.
